Osman Rashid

Founder

Osman, an electrical engineer by training decided to follow his passion for solving problems and thus began a 25-year career of entrepreneurship and innovation. In 2005, he co-founded a US based online textbook rental and student hub Chegg, which made it easier for students to afford textbooks throughout college. His work at Chegg propelled him to be awarded the prestigious Ernst & Young California Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2009. He has also been recognized as Forbes Impact 15 for 2012 and as Inc.’s Immigrant Edge: 9 Wildly Successful Entrepreneurs.

In 2010, he co-founded Kno, Inc., another groundbreaking technology company in digital education. Today, he is the CEO of Convo Corporation, an Enterprise Social Collaboration Platform being used by some of the best companies in the world.

Osman combined this passion for entrepreneurship and education when he decided to open a next generation school system in Pakistan along with Dr. Shazia Khan. After studying Pakistan’s education landscape, they found a clear need for delivering a quality education experience at an extremely affordable fee. After much deliberation (for many it was shockingly fast) the SOAR STEM School (“S3”) system was founded in January 2nd 2019.

He is also actively involved as a board member at ChildLife Foundation which is bringing critical health care and intervention to millions of the youngest and neediest children in Pakistan through a network of urgent care clinics.
